SINUS PROBLEMS
Question:
DOES ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW OF THE BEST ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE FOR SINUS PROBLEMS? ANY BOOK REFERENCES WOULD BE HELPFUL. I HAVE TAKEN MOSTLY HERBS, AND THEY HAVE HELPED, BUT THIS TIME OF YEAR, I STILL GET BAD HEAD PRESSURE AND DRAINAGE. THANKS.

Yes, there is a very effective way to cure this problem: ACCUPRESSURE. There are some points available which can releive you from sinus IN SECONDS and then some points to CURE sinus. I would like you to first get aquainted with this science, so please check this site out: http://www.ucc.uconn.edu/~dgs95001/accu.html and then you can call me or email me if you are interested in pursuing this science and giving it a try. I’d say its worth a try! Dishant Shah.

I can tell you what works for me: fresh grapefruit. I eat at least one a day – I peel it like an orange (which I used to think was crazy, but my wife did it, so I tried it and got used to it). Also, I drink one or two glasses of lemonade a day, nothing fancy, just the frozen stuff, and I haven’t had a cold or the flu in over twenty years. In fact, I haven’t been to the doctor in that time, except when I strained my ankle. There’s always some darn thing. And by the way, I smoke cigarettes. About two packs a day.

I don’t think there is a best alternative medicine but there are many good ones. Most sinus problems (not all) are the result of sinus infections. Two treatments are the use of apple cider vinegar or kombucha tea which are used to prevent infection and to reduce tissue inflammation. A third method that my wife finds very useful is inhaling tea tree oil. Clears the sinuses quickly. — Frank J. Perron, B.A., M.L.E.O. I have had sinus problems for the last twenty years. It has only been recently that I was seen by an allergist and told that I am chemically sensitive to perfumes, formaldehyde, ethanol, and glycerin. In addition to the allergen drops that I am taking, I was advised to take 2000 mg of Vitamin C per day. I could not believe the difference. The drainage is gone, along with the headaches, earaches, and fatigue. I have since reduced the dosage to about 1000 mg per day as I had so much energy that I was not sleeping. RW

How about trying cranial chiropractic or osteopathy. Cured me.

Bob, a good reference that I have found is by James D. Krystosik D.C. He is the author of a small book entitled "Pycnogenol Nature’s prescription for aging, allergies…" Pycnogenol or OPC’s (proanthacyanidins) are found in grape seed extract OPC-85+. This proanthacyanidin is nature’s super anioxidant. Research studies have shown that this "super" antioxidant’s antihistamine properties have been very effective in treating allergy condition like hayfever. I have more information if you need it. The "Bible" of alternative treatments for sinusitis has to be the book "Sinus Survival," 3rd ed., by Dr. Robert Ivker. I found some of the recommendations to be quite helpful. Make sure you get the 3rd (newest) edition; it contains much new material. — Steven D.
