Exactly what you’d imagine it to be. Inflammation of the spine. According to the rheumatologist, it’s secondary to the colitis – most probably going to go away after the colectomy. And if it doesn’t, I know a place I can buy a liter of potassium cyanide at 10% sol. for 20 bucks.

Hello, Just say "NO" . . . You can go to a drug store and purchase a little bottle of salt solution; take it home; dump it out; go to the healthfood store; purchase a "good" sea salt; take it home; in a pint jar, make a solution of 2 teaspoons of the sea salt and fill with water; pure some into your little, plastic bottle; holding away from your nares; spray. Accumulate these little, plastic bottles so that you can sterilize them once in a while . . . Here in America the best ones are OCEAN, because the caps come out easy. I feel "Hydro Pulse / Irrigator" uses "force" and plunges all the bacteria and fungus that is in your nasal passage up into your eye area, brain and deep into your sinuses. Colonic enemies where real popular at one time until everybody found it was forcing stuff deep, up into areas where it didnot belong; now you never here anything more about it . . .

So say some. I’m not sure that most in the field believe that, or whether there has been sufficient evidence of that. I personally have been on Protonix, one of the proton pump inhibitor meds similar to Prilosec, Prevacid, or Nexium for a few years now, due to an ulcer that was found in an endoscopy. (I never had heartburn symptoms though.) I don’t believe taking it has helped my sinus and nasal problems at all. Is there anyone reading who has found that taking this type of med to treat acid reflux has helped sinus problems?

I have a bad problem with acid reflux and am using Prilosec. My use of Prilosec has done nothing to alleviate my sinus issues. However, my sinus issues may be unrelated to acid reflux too.
Response:
I take Prilosec and Pepcid AC for Gerds. Mine started after I had an ulcer. I have had allergies and sinus infections since childhood. Some days the sinus headaches get so bad I have to lay down, after taking Aleve. So nothing has changed with me having Gerds. shirley

Yes I may have overstated it. It probably would have to be fairly severe to be a major contributor to sinusitis. If there is a cough though it might contribute to that
Response:
Well, that theory does exist. I have read articles stating that. However, I haven’t read of any person whose sinus-rhinitis problems have actually improved due to taking these anti-GERD meds. My friend has a 1972 plymouth with 157,000 miles. Runs fine. My wife’s 1972 corvette runs beautifully. Its a matter of takng care of the product. The Hydro Pulse unitis in our office are used 5 days a week non stop and are still in perfect condition. There are certain care items that have to be done for any gadget including running vinegar through to remove salt rinsing with clear water to remove salt not dropping it not immersing it in water or other solution. and other directions. The directions clearly state not to immerse in water yet that is what some people insist on doing.. It is said, that if people took care of themselves like they do their cars, they would last longer too. We get calls aboutr the Hydro Pulse that are three years old. Many pass from mother to uncle to son, etc. there is no reason why the Hydro Pulse shouldn’t last 3 + years if given proper care. the four in my office continue to work perfectly. These days, electrical appliances have safety features to prevent problems even when the appliance is accidentally damaged or is defective. My Conair hair dryer also came with instructions not to immerse it in water. Nevertheless, the power cord has a GFI plug. And the possibility of electric current leakage in a moist area is why many bathrooms have a GFI outlet these days. — Steven D. Steve… have you considered installing a GFI outlet where you use your hydro pulse? It would make all the appliance you use in the area more safe and they cost very little.

(A little strange though, since the product has only been manufactured for a couple of years.) (LOL) If you think that the HP should last for 3+ years, why don’t you have a 3 year warranty? Waterpiks and the Interplak irrigator both have two year warranty, why does yours only have a one year warranty? Steven, a long-time contributor to this group, writes about how he got an electric shock from his HP. He could have basis for a lawsuit from that. Instead of doing that, he went out and bought a new one. And you, rather than apologizing to him, and saying that you will try to improve the product, blame him for your product electrocuting him. ——————— To Steven: you should at least report the product to whatever regulatory boards regulate electrical appliances, so they can test it further and see if the product really is fit to be sold, since it doesn’t look like the company will fix the problem on its own. If nothing is fixed, someone else could get a much larger shock than you did, which could be quite dangerous. "ENTconsult" <entcons…@aol.comnospam> wrote in message

I think we should take it a little easier on the doctor over this for several reasons… 1. I’m sure he didn’t design the electrical interface. 2. He’s right… if you keep the unit dry like you should with any electrical appliance, you will have better luck. 3. None of the Waterpik brand units have built in GFI. 4. I really don’t want him to leave this ng because he tires of complaints that should be handled through the company. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text - MS wrote: > This is really quite unprofessuional, Dr. Grossan, publicly blaming users of > the product that you sell (and heavily promote on this newsgroup, free > advertising if you will) for problems with it. > Yes, those hydropulses that have been passed from generation to generation. > I have one that my great-great-grandfather used, passed on through > generations for centuries. Your own prejudicial ravings count for little compared to Paminifarm taking a stand on something she believes in. The PC rot is destroying the moral fibre of society whilst those who take a stand are labelled by the likes of you. What Is Racism? The ‘racist’ double standard: how Whites are made to feel guilty and "hateful" for loving their own people and culture. by Thomas Jackson There is surely no nation in the world that holds "racism" in greater horror than does the United States. Compared to other kinds of offenses, it is thought to be somehow more reprehensible. The press and public have become so used to tales of murder, rape, robbery, and arson, that any but the most spectacular crimes are shrugged off as part of the inevitable texture of American life. "Racism" is never shrugged off. For example, when a White Georgetown Law School student reported earlier this year that black students are not as qualified as White students, it set off a booming, national controversy about "racism." If the student had merely murdered someone he would have attracted far less attention and criticism. Racism is, indeed, the national obsession. Universities are on full alert for it, newspapers and politicians denounce it, churches preach against it, America is said to be racked with it, but just what is racism? Dictionaries are not much help in understanding what is meant by the word. They usually define it as the belief that one’s own ethnic stock is superior to others, or as the belief that culture and behavior are rooted in race. When Americans speak of racism they mean a great deal more than this. Nevertheless, the dictionary definition of racism is a clue to understanding what Americans do mean. A peculiarly American meaning derives from the current dogma that all ethnic stocks are equal. Despite clear evidence to the contrary, all races have been declared to be equally talented and hard- working, and anyone who questions the dogma is thought to be not merely wrong but evil. The dogma has logical consequences that are profoundly important. If blacks, for example, are equal to Whites in every way, what accounts for their poverty, criminality, and dissipation? Since any theory of racial differences has been outlawed, the only possible explanation for black failure is White racism. And since blacks are markedly poor, crime-prone, and dissipated, America must be racked with pervasive racism. Nothing else could be keeping them in such an abject state. All public discourse on race today is locked into this rigid logic. Any explanation for black failure that does not depend on White wickedness threatens to veer off into the forbidden territory of racial differences. Thus, even if today’s Whites can find in their hearts no desire to oppress blacks, yesterday’s Whites must have oppressed them. If Whites do not consciously oppress blacks, they must oppress them Unconsciously. If no obviously racist individuals can be identified, then societal institutions must be racist. Or, since blacks are failing so terribly in America, there simply must be millions of White people we do not know about, who are working day and night to keep blacks in misery. The dogma of racial equality leaves no room for an explanation of black failure that is not, in some fashion, an indictment of White people. The logical consequences of this are clear. Since we are required to believe that the only explanation for non-White failure is White racism, every time a non-White is poor, commits a crime, goes on welfare, or takes drugs, White society stands accused of yet another act of racism. All failure or misbehavior by non-Whites is standing proof that White society is riddled with hatred and bigotry. For precisely so long as non-Whites fail to succeed in life at exactly the same level as Whites, Whites will be, by definition, thwarting and oppressing them. This obligatory pattern of thinking leads to strange conclusions. First of all, racism is a sin that is thought to be committed almost exclusively by White people. Indeed, a black congressman from Chicago, Gus Savage, and Coleman Young, the black mayor of Detroit, have argued that only White people can be racist. Likewise, in 1987, the affirmative action officer of the State Insurance Fund of New York issued a company pamphlet in which she explained that all Whites are racist and that only Whites can be racist. How else could the plight of blacks be explained without flirting with the possibility of racial inequality? Although some blacks and liberal Whites concede that non-Whites can, perhaps, be racist, they invariably add that non-Whites have been forced into it as self-defense because of centuries of White oppression. What appears to be non-White racism is so understandable and forgivable that it hardly deserves the name. Thus, whether or not an act is called racism depends on the race of the racist. What would surely be called racism when done by Whites is thought to be normal when done by anyone else. The reverse is also true. Examples of this sort of double standard are so common, it is almost tedious to list them: When a White man kills a black man and uses the word "nigger" while doing so, there is an enormous media uproar and the nation beats its collective breast; when members of the black Yahweh cult carry out ritual murders of random Whites, the media are silent (see AR of March, 1991). College campuses forbid pejorative statements about non-Whites as "racist," but ignore scurrilous attacks on Whites. At election time, if 60 percent of the White voters vote for a White candidate, and 95 percent of the black voters vote for the black opponent, it is Whites who are accused of racial bias. There are 107 "historically black" colleges, whose fundamental blackness must be preserved in the name of diversity, but all historically White colleges must be forcibly integrated in the name of… the same thing. To resist would be racist. "Black pride" is said to be a wonderful and worthy thing, but anything that could be construed as an expression of White pride is a form of hatred. It is perfectly natural for third-world immigrants to expect school instruction and driver’s tests in their own languages, whereas for native Americans to ask them to learn English is racist. Blatant anti-White prejudice, in the form of affirmative action, is now the law of the land. Anything remotely like affirmative action, if practiced in favor of Whites, would be attacked as despicable favoritism. All across the country, black, Hispanic, and Asian clubs and caucuses are thought to be fine expressions of ethnic solidarity, but any club or association expressly for Whites is by definition racist. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) campaigns openly for black advantage but is a respected "civil rights" organization. The National Association for the Advancement of White People (NAAWP) campaigns merely for equal treatment of all races, but is said to be viciously racist. At a few college campuses, students opposed to affirmative action have set up student unions for Whites, analogous to those for blacks, Hispanics, etc, and have been roundly condemned as racists. Recently, when the White students at Lowell High School in San Francisco found themselves to be a minority, they asked for a racially exclusive club like the ones that non-Whites have. They were turned down in horror. Indeed, in America today, any club not specifically formed to be a White enclave but whose members simply happen all to be White is branded as racist. Today, one of the favorite slogans that define the asymmetric quality of American racism is "celebration of diversity." It has begun to dawn on a few people that "diversity" is always achieved at the expense of Whites (and sometimes men), and never the other way around. No one proposes that Howard University be made more diverse by admitting Whites, Hispanics, or Asians. No one ever suggests that National Hispanic University in San Jose (CA) would benefit from the diversity of having non-Hispanics on campus. No one suggests that the Black Congressional Caucus or the executive ranks of the NAACP or the Mexican-American Legal Defense and Educational Fund suffer from a lack of diversity. Somehow, it is perfectly legitimate for them to celebrate homogeneity. And yet any all-White group – a company, a town, a school, a club, a neighborhood – is thought to suffer from a crippling lack of diversity that must be remedied as quickly as possible. Only when Whites have been reduced to a minority has "diversity" been achieved. Let us put it bluntly: To "celebrate" or "embrace" diversity, as we are so often asked to do, is no different from deploring an excess of Whites. In fact, the entire nation is thought to suffer from an excess of Whites. Our current immigration policies are structured so that approximately 90 percent of our annual 800,000 legal immigrants are non-White. The several million illegal immigrants that enter the country every year are virtually all non-White. It would be racist not to be grateful for this laudable contribution to "diversity." It is, of course, only White nations that are called upon to practice this kind of "diversity." It is almost criminal to imagine a nation of any other race countenancing blatant dispossession of this kind. What if the United States were pouring its poorest, least educated citizens across the border into Mexico? Could anyone be fooled into thinking that Mexico was being "culturally enriched?" What if the state of Chihuahua were losing its majority population to poor Whites who demanded that schools be taught in English, who insisted on celebrating the Fourth of July, who demanded the right to vote … read more »

Right. That’s why you should report it somehow, as it’s obvious from Dr. G’s response in this thread that just reporting it to his company won’t help, as he blames it on you. If you hear in the evening news that a child was electrocuted by one, you would feel sorry if you had not reported it. > Unfortunately, I believe that it’s the manufacturer–Dr. Grossan–who > has to submit the product to Underwriters Laboratories for UL listing. > Not its customers. > I will try to report the incident to the FDA. I don’t know anything about which boards, but good to report it somewhere, as that might get them to improve it, rather than only mentioning it here. (Good to report it here also though, as this NG seems to be the primary promotion avenue of the product.) You could also report it to Consumer Reports magazine, as they do product testing, and also report on products that are unsafe, recalls, etc.

Agreed. I won’t any more. By putting him on my "blocked sender’s list" (in Outlook Express–Tools-Message Rules–Blocked Sender’s List) (otherwise known as a "killfile"), I will not see his posts any more, so of course will not respond. You’re right. Trolls like that are just trying to get attention (including and most often, negative attention)–better to give them none. Well, Dr G. Out of curiosity I looked it up. I did a search on Google Groups for Hydro Pulse on this newsgroup, and had the results sorted by date. The very first mentions of the Hydro Pulse on this newsgroup was by a company working with you on it, on July 26, 2002, and by you on the next day, July 27. You wrote that you were coming out with this product, but that it was not available yet, and would be on your web site soon. By my calculations, that is a little over 2 years, that the product has been available. So, how do you come up with the statement that "we get calls about the Hydro-Pulse that are three years old". What does that mean, referring to a product that only became available a little more than two years ago? Is that kind of like the statement about all the "users who insist on immersing their Hydro-Pulses in water"? (Have some been shipped to an insane asylum? Or as playthings in a pre-school? No normal adult would immerse such an appliance in water.) Is it OK just to make up statements for "rhetorical effect"?

No electrical appliance that you use water with, in the bathroom sink, is going to keep 100% dry, 100% of the time. They need to be tested under wet conditions, not just somewhere where they are run dry.

Really?? Why in the world would someone immerse a whole electrical appliance like that in water?? What possible purpose could that have? How do you know that "some people insist on doing" that? Do people e-mail you to tell you that they immersed their Hydro-Pulse in water, to see if it would float? (LOL)
Or is that just a line that you threw in "for effect"?

Anyone recall when the Hydro Pulse first became available. I don’t recall exactly, and I never bought one, but of course, as with all Dr. G’s products, it was promoted heavily on this newsgroup at the time. It doesn’t seem to me like three or more years ago–more like one to two years. I really don’t recall however, and advancing age makes the years seem to go by quicker. Anyone recall more specifically when this product was first on the market? I guess one way to find out would be to go to Google Groups and do a search for that product name on this newsgroup. Look for the earliest mention of the product, and that would be when it first came out. I might do such a search later, don’t have time right now. If someone else does such a check earlier, let us know what were the earliest posts about the product. It just doesn’t seem like three years or more to me, but I could be mistaken.

I keep coming back to the same point: Appliances have safety features to prevent even accidental or unintentional damage from causing disaster. For example, just yesterday morning, I accidentally tipped my portable electric heater on the carpeted floor. It immediately shut off because it has a safety switch that cuts off power when it’s tipped over. And my hair dryer has a GFI plug. (And there is no evidence that I really did anything wrong with my Hydropulse that caused the electric shock.) Rather than tell everyone to keep their bathrooms scrupulously dry when running an electrical appliance, bathrooms today have a GFCI outlet. And so on. Now with an appliance like the Hydropulse that is going to be constantly exposed to salt water, you need very good protection against even accidental current leakage. I’m not one to make lawsuits. I am one to suggest that a manufacturer do their utmost to make a product "fail-safe." But the first time that a child gets an electric shock from their HydroPulse–even a mild shock–Dr. Grossan may then have a real lawsuit on his hands. And Dr. Grossan should not be trying to stonewall this issue. It’s better that it first happened to me, than if it had first happened to a 6-year-old child. > To Steven: > you should at least report the product to whatever regulatory boards > regulate electrical appliances, so they can test it further and see if the > product really is fit to be sold, since it doesn’t look like the company > will fix the problem on its own.
Unfortunately, I believe that it’s the manufacturer–Dr. Grossan–who has to submit the product to Underwriters Laboratories for UL listing. Not its customers. I will try to report the incident to the FDA. Unfortunately, since the Hydropulse is a medical device (unlike the Waterpik), it’s the FDA that would have jurisdiction, not the Consumer Product Safety Commission. — Steven D. A good product, but I have a cheaper alternative. This Spring, set out several Cayenne peppar plants (get 6 for about $2). When the first set of peppars mature, gather, wash, place in freeze lock bag, and place in freezer. Harvest your peppers all summer long. The plants will produce peppers as long as you harvest them. In about (September/October for South), (September for North), allow the peppers on the plant to turn red. Harvest as they turn fire red. The plant will continue to produce. Take your red peppers, lay in a protected located so they can dry out. Throw away the ones which rot, turn grey, brown or black. (Plants may continue to produce if you allow the first batch of peppers to turn red. This will give you peppers which you can dry instead of freezing) From your first harvest to the next harvest, you’ll have plenty of peppers to unclog your nose/sinuses. Just break the tip off a dried pepper, rub the broken part between your thumb and forefinger, swirl your forefinger inside one nostril, and your thumb inside the other nostril. Depending on the hotness of the pepper, it may set your nose on ever loving fire. But, this works better then Sinus Buster, and it’s free. It’ll only burn for a few minutes. Experiment to know how much of a swirl you need in the nose, but do it 1/2 inch inside the nose, and not near the opening. This is what I do, and it works much better than SB, and only costs about $2 a year, plus some gardening time. Sorry for the ranting.

Just looked. It’s a pepper spray, cayenne pepper. I guess one could make one’s own by putting some cayenne pepper into saline spray, or adding some to irrigation water. It’s an irritating substance, so I wonder if long term usage could damage the nasal linings. Has anyone asked their ENT or allergist about using this spray? I see they also have a pepper spray that is supposed to cause one to lose weight.

I use have used sinusbuster for 3-4 months. It seems to help my congestion and doesn’t cause any rebound like regular nasal sprays. Your post reminded me that I needed to reorder and when I went to the website I noticed that sinusbuster is now sold in a metered type sprayer – so now there is no need to do the container transfer yourself. For me sinusbuster certainly isn’t a cure-all but it is definitely a helpful sinusitis tool with no downside that I’ve found yet.

I been using it and I think it really helps. I was absolutely great the first two months or so that I was using it. Then the effect seemed to taper off. I was surprised though that when I thought I was getting an infection I used it a bunch and then was much better the next day. Maybe I was going to get better anyway.

Is it a good idea to use the nasal irrigator during an active infection? I am somewhat worried about moving any nasal or sinus bacteria deeper into the sinus cavities. Also, I was wondering if anyone has had sinus infections, particularly ethmoid infections, that have been preceded by inflammation and drainage from the corner of the eyes. I was having eye issues last week and by this weekend, had a full-blown sinus infection. My allergies have been very bad due to ragweed. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Hi Randy…. I double or triple the use of my irrigator if I feel a flair-up coming on. …I think there’s a heck of a lot greater risk of forcing the material back in by blowing the nose– or trying to use the irrigator, if the nose is too plugged up to accept the water. …Wait ’till it clears. My advice:. …Always use the irrigator on a low setting… try cold water… And "most" importantly… Refrain from blowing the nose. ….Jon

Irrigation is one of the best ways to flush out the infected material that’s already there. You win more than you lose–provided you irrigate gently. > Also, I was wondering if > anyone has had sinus infections, particularly ethmoid infections, that > have been preceded by inflammation and drainage from the corner of the > eyes.
Whenever I get a sinus infection, my eyes start tearing. Also a sinus infection activates your immune system, making it more sensitive to other things. When I get a sinus infection, I am unable to read a newspaper without sneezing uncontrollably from the newsprint–something that never happens to me when I don’t have a sinus infection. I’m also much more sensitive to dust when I have a sinus infection. — Steven D. Litvintchouk Email: sdlit…@earthlinkNOSPAM.net Remove the NOSPAM before replying to me.

Now that you mention it, that’s another mystery. When my sinusitis was under good control, my ENT checked my turbinates with his endoscope and said that from what he saw, it looked like I had allergies. Hello, There must be millions of things to which you could be allergic? Are you sure you got tested for all of them – what about Candida? Were you tested for that, or any other fungus, yeast, mold (there are over 3,000)? You will know for sure, because it will be the only test where they do a nasal wash for the culture. Are you sure they tested for all 3,000 fungus species? Could it be scar tissue from many sore throats as a kid, due to B complex (especially B 12) deficiency? Have you had a biopsy of the mass? Is your "mystery" now solved? Donot irrigate. You may spray a fine (extra fine non-medicinal/salt soluion) up your nose (the same as breathing salt air from the ocean surf). If you want to irrigate make sure their is medicine in it. I always squirt some lysterine up my nose before i do the salt solution. I use an "Ocean" saline spray bottle, so that i can throw it away soon, because of contamination. Working my way now through 7 days of cephelexin 500 4 times a day and things are not much better. I rely on sugar and caffeine to have enough energy to function. I get so sleepy I fall asleep watching tv yet I can’t get to sleep at night and when I do I sleep 5-6 hours. Normally I like 9-10 hours a day. I’ve tried the Grossan nasal water pik and it is NO help with the lethargy or headaches. My doctor has been on vacation so the nurse practitioner has been handling this. I thought it would be routine as all of my infections have been since the surgery. Now I am wondering. Come Friday do I call for aa 3rd Rx or make an appt.. with the ent who did the surgery and maybe get the sinuses vacuumed out or see what Rx he can offer. Having wasted 3 weeks of summer is adversely affecting my moods too. And the sugar aint helping the weight. OTOH, my wife works with a lady who is experiencing the same thing. We’ve had less than 1 inch on rain in July and I wonder if the dryness is a factor. Any thoughts or insights? BTW, don’t think I eat only sugar and coffee. I eat much fruit and vegetables and whole wheat bread and almonds growned into a butter and other healthy foods. And I drink green tea also. I’ve tried Sudafed but it’s not good for my blood pressure.

Hello, Antibiotics make fungus worse: "Blood pressure"? "Weight"? Sounds as if they have had you on steroids, which also shorten your life. The Mayo Clinic has just found that most "sinus" trouble is fungus. They have a new treatment. It is: Amphotericin B deoxycholate, nasal lavage wash. After suffering with multiple sinus infections, year after year, for decades, I experimented with flooding my nasal passages with a mixture of diluted 3% hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and kosher salt. In order to flood my nasal passages and keep them flooded, I keep my forehead pointed downward. I keep my forehead down for quite a while, hoping that the anti-infective mixture can get to the infected area(s) within my sinuses and nasal passages. . It works! I have been sinus infection free for about 3 years. I think that I had chronic infection problems with my turbinates, so flooding my nasal passages with the anti-infective mixture worked very well, for me, since the infected areas were fairly easy to reach. . I have fully documented my experience and how I did it at Healthboards.com. There are posts there by people who have tried my "upside down sinus flooding" and have received either partial relief or total relief. There are also posts there from those who it hasn’t helped, and by those who don’t think that it is a good idea. I have no connection at all with Healthboards. I use it because I consider it to be the best facility for discussing health problems on the Internet. . To find out more, select one of the following links: . Yeah, I figure odds are I choke from the allergy just then:). As odd as it seems to say so, dpending on how much citrus I ingested or breathed, it can take in average up to 3 days for the throat to spasm real bad and me not be able to breath save struggling for my life for about ten minutes of tough gasping. If the allergy choking is not bad enough, i.e. not max to reopen airways, it will reoccur over up tpo 5 days until I *really* choke bad. It’s just like hittign your head with a hammer, all in all. Feels so nice after its over;-) It will really be flipping a coin on that one: have not decided if I’ll go or not. Makes zich sense to go at all. They put on job description, union rule, all they will evaluate a cadidate on. They normally then call only thoise who have all those criteria in their resume. Not ONE thing is anythign a writer editor ever has on a resume. Sounds to me more like a raise they will give one of them programming buddies cause he writes a weekly report on production. I never even applied for that thing either. I applied to other jobs in my fild wiht that department, never to that. A little section says on some competition that they might use the submited applications to staff "similar positions". I care more about the Friday one, if a lousy salary again, rookie salary for legal writing…. Save the one I never applied for, it is still applications I made in February that they are on…Might take years with them. Sometimes I wish I knew they’d never call to focus more on a business of my own, as that just reminds me wayyyy too much of how working for them is. Anyway. If Life decides I will choke for either one or both, so be it. Odds are on, as they use lemon cleaners industrially in fed departments. Once the body gets into hyperthermia mode, now nothing comared to the instant sudden shock of a few years ago, but gradually worse and worse as the heat tays longer, it then can not be colled down just by weather of 90. Today feel like in the 70 degrees F… The needed break… Thirty minutes after I wrote that, my sense of taste got back. Another 15 mins, my sense of smell got back. There must have been incredible muscular stress and dammage, as I feel the body still as if working on all muscles, the legs being the ones that ahd it worse. But the anbsence of pain here and there, of stress on the body that feels like I was plugged on 220 v all teh time, the absence f that already is such a great thing…. Yet, I love sunlight, I like sunny warm days with a nice breeze. But hot and humid they can keep… I keep going "aaaaaaaahhhh…." Like someone having water after a marathon in the hot sun…Now its the legs that are seeming to be trying to get back into gear. It’s like spaced spasms, and if the spasms still hurt, the break in between makes me go "aaaaaaaaah…That feels sooooo gooood"… Man, sometimes, I swear…After a few years of this, the electric chair must not even tickle;-) Chloe > > ej >

How’s that for three?;-) Dunno how that coudl ever be worded, but I *feel* the recuperation efforts in the body taking place….I *feel* the recuperation process under way, not the feeling better, the metabolism making the body be forced to rest. I feel the intense work happening in the body that tries to bring all systems off that flase red alert that heat caused… The rest of the universe could not have a clue what I mean…The rest of the world could not understand. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I "should" do all that right now for what my brain tells me is 101% bogus interview. Riiiight. But right now, after surviving this last thing, the entire body works so hard on recuperating, tending to all cells and muscles and arteries and so on, that I just coudl not give a toot about that website, and don’t give a toot about any "Should", "Have to". If it ain’t rigged, they got my resume and it is more than sufficient. If it is rigged, no amount of work will change nada. Right now, the only "have to" is "do nothing. Give the body a chance to do its work"; it is working so hard inside, I FEEL the recuperation process itself. Not "I feel I am recuperating" as in "I feel better". Not there yet at all. But as in "I feel all the body is doing, coordinating, all the debugging programs it is running, the defrags, the deletes, the cleaning the bin, and blocking all of life’s usual "spam" to achieve that…And there is no rigged exam that will make me bother to make improvement recommendations, for free on top of it, for any blood sucker posing as a potential employer. Ooooooooooooh that feels sooooooooooooooo gooooood. TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH……. Steam decompression…………………So this is how my body feels? How everyoen feels every day…? Oh lord, how I’d like to feel that more often………………. Chloe —

Thank you. Both for the wish and the apple a day contribution;-):) I’m okay, save for a headache, which feels like a glucose one. I had forgotten that Graves burns sugar at the speed of light. But switched the equal for sugar in my morning *cafeinated coffee*, and that should help -graves peaking again sicne two days. (I had just cut down on sugar, going from eight a cup to three (sic), adding two equals to ge re-used to the less syrupy stuff…while avoiding hypoiglecimia froma toof ast cut down…to try and save my teeth, nah!) I slept better today too, if I did wake up in the night. I could catch up on the missed sleep on both days so far. Okay…That does it. Headache growing. Here comes tylenol time. No trace of itchiness in ears and throat so far this morning. May it stay so. That started the entire shibang of caughing untilI’d inflame the throat and get a bronchitis then penumonia. Was just seeming to win ever so gradually on that one after a year of attempts at trying this and trying that (no help from the many docs I saw), and it showed wanting to start all over at the earliest stage again, yesterday: the ears itching and that itchiness making you cough where suddenly the throat gets itchy too…)…I even felt some signs of the swollen ex sinusitis wanting to come back. I swear, after the thyroid is pulverized, I get that *&^% cyst in my sinuses removed. "Disturbs nothing" ENT says. Yeah well, splain to me why I can not breath with my mouth closed and why I can not even blow my nose on that side, hah. Me thinks what they think is a cyst is more likely some huge blood cloth or somethign of the likes, as I felt that coming down from the top of the head *when I took meds against worms* as I felt moving *on my brain* (sic). I felt that thign then move down and even saw my forehead MOVE as that came down. The movement looked liek a very live worm to me:(. It showed unable to get out through the nose, probably dying in the process given the meds I took against worms, and stayed stuck there. Can’t be a cyst: a cyst does not move!! Nah! Same thing for what remained on top of my brain that made the neurologist freak out. If that guy tells me it is a cyst, I run away from there at the speed of light: a cyst does not get bigger and smaller. An abcess can, not a cyst. A cyst can get bigger, and it sure can at the limit shrink and dry. But it can not go on swelling and shrinking with liquid leaking inside my head that I feel and that shuts the motor down completely. Note that it could be an aneurism too, leaking occasionally…I dunno that those cause fevers in the brain though…Infections do…That one seems over "for now". But happened in the past that it seemed okay to restart again…Go figure. You could then fry an egg on my skull, but would look for the button to turn it to low;-). I then sometimes fall as if someone turned a switch off…then come back to, the same way, as fast. I don’t even have time to touch the ground that I am back "on". Save when it happens in the stairway, eh;-). Some in here might remember this happenign in the stairs and the bruizes I got from it. Fun, fun, fun. "Save your neighbor", they said…Hm. I remember the last episodes were last winter, at that previous job…When I’d walk out of the building, whamo. For the "fever" in the head, and the swelling, well, it wanted to behave: just as I got in the neuro’s office, it *started* again. He coudl feel the heat starting fast for himself. See the swelling, see how fast my heart woudl beat then, how I frowned, eyebrows low, like someone withstanding the sensation of a crushed brain. He also noticed somethign moving a light in my left eye, I could see…But then, graves affects the eyes too! Lovely lovely lovely. Thank God for the other side. A few weeks before the entire itchiness of the ears and the cough started, they told me to drink an infusion of strong enough licorice roots. Adding that if one did that they woud have clear lungs forever.Licorice? I thought they were out of their mind. One of my sisters asked me why I did not ask the other side about this cough, and I rememebred they had told me before the cough was there about licorice roots. But I added "I dunno that such a thing even exists!". Next time she visited, she brought some to me. I was stunned. Licorice ROOTS? They existed?? Oh lord…had I known…". And yet big bad me left them in the bag and forgot where they went:(… This week, at the drug store, waiting for a prescription to be filled, I look in a book of natural products to see what they woudl recommend against coughs. I was stunned to see what I saw: "infusions of licorice essence/roots". Then describing how one coudl do that with the roots (sic)… Someone hit me on the head…Gotta get me some of that stuff.Forget the roots, I will get the already made essence and just pour a few drops in hot water as an infusion. Anyway. If anyone out there has that darn itchiness in the ears and throat from that virus: only ONE syrup can help. Of all, the yukky Buckley’s!! Start with the red one, for colds and light bronchial irritations, empty the darn bottle (following the posology) then switch to the blue one for throat irritation. Go easy on the blue afert three days. Streemly strong stuff. I am not supposed to touch any cough syrup due to Graves, as they usually contain tons of iodone, eh. But if I wait on the docs to help, which I did like a good girl, I stretch it for a year:(. That is about the health report of the day. Fun, innit… BUT tylenols work fast with me and the ehadache is gone as always within 10-20 minutes:). The eight sugars must have helped, too;-). Hope the kids are fine and don’t get any flus, Wanda! Rough on a mom, that… Specially since the mom usually gets the same flu too and has to then take care of a sick household on top of it. And remember to keep apples handy!:) Have a great family Sunday, ya lucky thing!:) C > > > "Eleonore Beaudoin" <bc…@FreeNet.Carleton.CA> wrote in message – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> news:bpppvc$anm$1@freenet9.carleton.ca… >> Morning, Wanda! >> "Wanda" (Divr…@charter.net) writes: >> > Now that’s a fresh point of view! >> Well, you don’t have to use fresh apples….;-) >> Stay alert and keep practicing, though: our drs all tend to move to the >> States;-). >> C >> > "Eleonore Beaudoin" <bc…@FreeNet.Carleton.CA> wrote in message >> > news:bpncpf$rcn$1@freenet9.carleton.ca… >> >> "An apple a day keeps the doctor away". If you are getting/giving regularly it does not seem all that important. The moment you stop getting/giving the old libido seems to start picking up. Avoidance techniques: a) Working too hard – being very tired/stressed changes priorities b) Exercising too much – too tired for action means you don’t really want it c) Partying too hard – too busy having fun to notice d) Drinking too much – too unconscious to notice Of course the most practical solution is to just do-it-yourself… .ske (practice makes perfect)

There are many things you can live without but the fact that you can’t have them rarely satiates the desire. In my experience the longer you go without something that you "can live without", the more you end up wanting it. Particularly true for sex… Strange creatures we are. .ske

I used to think that about chocolate. But my problem with chocolate is that if I have a bar or packet/box of chocolates I have to eat them all in one sitting when they’re all gone I don’t crave more, but I can’t stop myself from eating them when they’re there. So I avoid buying chocolate now – If they’re not there I don’t even think about them. I’ve also read of evidence that tells of reductions in libido when sexual activity diminishes – this may be a female thing though.

Which wins you the joke of the day: A couple goes to bed. The hubby feels in the mood, but as he tries to get close to his wife, she says that she had a real long day, is too tired, and does not feel like it: can’t they just hug for a while? The hubby gets grumpy. She snaps: "Can’t you just love me for who I am??? Not for what I do or not??? And what’s wrong with just higging???"… The next day, the hubby plays very very nice. It is Saturday. He brings her shopping. Anythign she wants is fine by him! Five dresses? Sure honey pie love mine, he says. Wanna get five pairs of shows and matching hand bags to go with the new dresses? She is extatic…Seing he is in such a mood, she does not dare change store, wanting to get all she can while it lasts…She gets blouses off the racks, pants, skirts, leather coat, mink coats, and he keeps smiling and calling her tender names and agreing to it all… Then they get to the cash. To her surprise he is not moving….The cashier waits…But he does not get his wallet out…The wife goes "Hon, won’t you pay for this stuff?" -Nah, says the hubby…I had a hard day…I don’t feel like it…Can’t we just hug the new clothes for a while…?…What is with the long face??? Why can’t you love me just for who I am, and not what I do or don’t do????…what??? What’s wrong with just hugging???"

I just bought the Sinofresh at my local store. There is a money back guarantee on it so I thought I would give it a try. I am impressed! It got rid of that stagnant bad breath that one can get from bad allergies and sinusitis! I had this weird bad breath for years! Anyone else try it?
Response:
I bought it about four or five weeks ago and have been very impressed, too. I did stop using it for about ten days because I had a cold, but have since resumed. I find it very soothing and it seems to be leaving my sinuses clearer then they were. I also had trouble because antihistimines with decongestants dry out my nasal tissue, and w/o the decongestants leave them feeling wet. The Sinofresh leaves them feeling just naturally moist – the way they should feel. Usually things like this don’t work for me, but I tried it on the recommendation of a friend and while I know it won’t work for everyone, this is working well for me.
