ongoing sinus problems: Perpahs a fungas problem?
Question:
Hi all: I still have ongoing sinus problems with no help in sight. I am wondering if I would have this fungus reaction described by the Mayo clinc? MY ENT seems lost … My C-scan shows minial mucosal thickinging, bilaterally in my front, maxillary and ethmoid sinuses and a little high attenuation in the maxilary sinus. There is no polops or bony distruction visible. Antibiotics are not working, oral prendasone worked only a little. In blood tests everything is normal, including a low count for eosinophils (does this mean anything??) I have always been very sensitive to molds, but do not show up as traditionally ‘allergic’ in standard allergy testing. I am on a very long wait list to see Whinston Vaughn at Stanford … Any ideas till then? Anyone know a good sinus Dr in San Francisco or surrounding area that in a bit easier to get into? Thanks!!! and merry xmass

Have you read my "upside down" flooding cure, using hydrogen peroxide and baking soda, for sinus disease, which I’ve posted here? I had sinus disease for over thirty years, with countless infections, and surgery and misery. I found a way to cure my own sinus disease, that costs nothing. Others have tried it, with great results so far. If you are interested and can’t find my posts here, I will post it again.

Have you had a sinus culture? Have you tried temporary relocation–move to a locale with less pollution and fewer molds (say somewhere in the Southwest)–to see if your health improves? — Steven L.

It’s hard to day because you do not say exactly what "sinus problems" you are actually having. > Anyone know a good sinus Dr in San Francisco or surrounding area that in a bit easier to get into?
As a rought rule of thumb, the doctor with the longest wait is the one to see, I have found.

Ironically, if one can wait that long, one probably doesn’t need to see one.

A doctor told me years ago that hydrogen peroxide didn’t work for fungus problems and that has been my experience. For fungus you need an acidic solution or powder. Sniffing apple cider vinegar powder helped my sinuses, middle ears, and chest. And mixing it with water cured an outer ear infection I had for over 10 years. The reason the powder worked on my outer ear is because when the water dries the powder stays and coats the skin. Vinegar also works for candida. By the way, I have used hydrogen peroxide a few times over the years when my sinuses have been really bad and it has always helped. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> I had sinus disease for over thirty years, with countless infections, and > surgery and misery. Do you smoke and /or drink? how about your work? and the enviroment where you live? is there any food that make you feel bad? doctors normally look for quick fixes , they ‘re quite good with acute sickness but are clueless about harmless chronic ailment. Since nsal prolems could take a long time to develope, it could take a long time to become normal again, you need to be patience and investigative. only yourself knows what make you feel bad and what make you feel good, trust it.

Well, unfortunately, like the other poster, it could be a number of things including sinusitis. I would go to a headache clinic at a University Medical Center.
