My doctor gave me a free sample of some stuff called ‘Nasacort’, but I didn’t feel like it did much for me.  I’m using Vancenase DS (double strength) right now.  It definately has a drying effect on one’s nose. I just started using it, so I can’t say whether or not it’s helping. Hope you feel better. -jp

I’ve used Vancenase AQ for about a year now – once  a day when things are going well, and twice a day when they’re not. I clear my sinuses a bit with regular saline before spraying. I think that it does help me. I haven’t had any stinging, but I do sometimes see a little blood. I stop using it for a few days, and then things are fine.

I have a history of sinus problems, and lately, I had a sinus infection. I used Amoxil at first, it did not do jack.  Then my doctor switched me to 15 days of Bactrim, which got rid of the infection.  There’s been no more green stuff coming out of my nose when I blow it.  Just clear stuff. I still feel a little congested though.  I do not doubt that I still have sinusitis (the inflammation) even though the infection has been treated successfully.  Right now, I’d say it’s not as bad as it was during the infection- merely a nuisance.  But I want to get rid of this 100%.  Now I’m using Sudafed Non-Drying Sinus (pseudoephedrine 60 mg/guaifenesin 400 mg) twice a day, as well as the Mt. Breeze Waterless Vaporizer (each night, while in bed). I’m SICK of being sick.  Sinusitis is something I just would not wish on my worst enemy.  I hope the sinusitis doesn’t worsen- I’m not sick enough to resort to acupuncture yet.   By the way, who has had success with corticosteroid nasal sprays (e.g. Vancenase, Flonase, etc)?  Please let me know how it worked for you.
