How often should I irrigate??
Question:
If you are having heavy mucus / pus, irrigating 2 – 3 x a day is ok, but without heavy pus, twice a day is maximum. Once you are normal you don’t need to be more normal. Best postition if using Water Pik or Hydro Pulse is head midline. If you turn head to side, solution might accumulate near the eustachian opening. Someone asked about special price on Breathe.ease XL in quantity. When used for pulsatile irrigaiton so few persons need more than 1 – 2 months supply for relief that we never bothered about larger supply. Murray Grossan, M.D. http://www.ent-consult.com

I must be missing some information from Dr. Grossan’s site. I’m going to try irrigation for my sinus infection. I just posted, asking how to clean the contraption (ok — I have one of the older water pics). But, also, how often should I irrigate. I remember reading somewhere here that too much is not good at all as it removes some important substances. Also, any suggestions on best "way" to irrigate (head up, down, sideways, etc.?) Mel
