don't blow your nose!!

Question:

but he gave me prescriptions for a salve & inhaler, pills and nose drops. and he told me not to blow my nose because the pressure forces the mucous into the ear cavities.  he said to let it run out my nose and use a tissue or if there is too much mucous to snuff it up and spit.  GROSS!!!!  i’ve always hated people who did that, it turns my stomach to even hear it.  now i gotta do it!  i’ve spent my whole life blowing my nose, i sound like a fog horn.  when co-workers complained i threatened to let it run down my face.

hexe, that sounds kind of awful too. i wouldnt do that myself. (the snuffing thing.. it doesnt sound good for your brain..) you know you can get a little bulb syringe and fill it with warm saline solution and rinst out your nostrils and sinuses that way.. it really clears them out without having to resort to strange acrobatics. i used to do that with my daughter she had sinus infections for weeks on end. rinsing out with the warm saline solution really cut the awfulness of the infection and made her breathe better and was very non violent if done right. you can snuff the water as far up into your sinuses as you dare.. but you dont have to do it very far. just a little bit. it keeps your nose from getting all raw and chappy from wiping it all the time. just wash it out and dry it with a towell.. put a little vaseline or something to protect your skin while its clean. :) ) and i used too much salve in the inhaler because i can’t read the frapping directions which are in German, French, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Russian but not a bloody word in English and blew a whole in my brain.

hopefully it took any unkosher mojo with it !!  but i can now breath through my nose. and because i don’t feel up to cooking i stopped at the deli next to the doctors office and bought some of everything that looked good.  ML better eat this stuff slowly because it cost him DM 40.  i wanted the goose rillette but it is French and right now i won’t trust anything from France since the pork rillette killed several people.  i guess i’ll have to start making my own if i can find a recipe.

i know that your secret fantasy is to actually kill several people using a pork rillette! im onto your game :-}}} anna — Hexe in Hamburg alt.support.hypoglycemia http://citde.net/betty/hypoglycemia.htm : Thought of the day: The certain proof that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe? is that no one has bothered to make contact with us

he gave me some pills for the sinusitis have no idea what they would be in English and told me to stop taking the Grippostat and Benadryl.  i have found a good Husten Bonbon (cough drop ‘-), though, they are made with sage.  of course, i can’t taste them but they help quiet the tickle.  Thyme cough syrup is really nasty though.  the eucalyptus salve and inhalator work wonders for clearing my head.

you could drink warm lemon juice with honey :) ) homemade lemonade with honey in it is great for your throat.. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – The snuffling water up your nose works very well also, but it always makes my nose hurt (I still do it, though, when the drainage is severe). i don’t think i could shoot water up my nose, i’d probably kill myself.  all i can think of is Jon-Jon’s sooper soaker. ‘-) Remember, blow gently.  Find a spell for that, eh? Pit i’m practicing blowing more gently i cannot snuffle nohow.  he’s an internist not a nose & throat so what the hell does he know? — Hexe in Hamburg alt.support.hypoglycemia http://citde.net/betty/hypoglycemia.htm : Thought of the day: Right now I’m having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. the key to this is being gentle as well.. when i do it i blow *out* gently through my nose at the same time, so i can control how much goes in.. then it doesnt have that icky too much water up your nose in the pool feeling…. if you are blowing out at the same time, it cant go in farther than you want :) ) peace, anna – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Remember, blow gently.  Find a spell for that, eh?
