Rinsing Sinuses

Question:

Before I had my second sinus surgery I used to give irrigation a try.  I didn’t know about waterpik and used a bulb, then "sloshed" my head around. This resulted in spreading the infection around and in particular getting my frontal sinuses getting infected. Since my surgery (and for a short time before) I used the waterpik + Grossan tip and did not have problems!  I still bend over as far as possible to irrigate as many of the sinuses as possible, but haven’t been having the infections flare up–sometimes there is a small amount of tenderness in frontals for a day or two. Try what the doctor said.  It sounds silly but works great as long as you keep doing it.  I would also try saline to rinse your sinuses.   I did not believe in it until I tried it for two weeks, now I would not stop doing it. What technique or device should I use to rinse out my sinuses. I just went to see a new family doctor the other day about my sinusitis. And he suggested I should take a hand full of water and suck up my nose and spit the water back out of mouth! He was not willing to prescribe anything. My condition varies but is not serious. I am usually stuffed up on at least 1 side. However there is the rare time when I am stuffed up on both sides. I also get the odd allergic reaction where I have itchy eyes and stuffed up completely. He stressed mainly I needed to change my diet to help cleanse out my internals. Any other suggestions? ———–== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==———- http://www.dejanews.com/       Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own
