Sinus & Weather

Question:

My sinus problems seem to be more related to weather (changing barometric pressure) than any other factor.  Are there any techniques for dealing with this?  Would a climate with fewer weather fronts (I live in NJ) help? Thanks for any thoughts on this. Jim

I don’t think it will help you at all, I moved from WA to TX and it made it just cronic :<  I deal with it.

You probably have what I have… vasomotor rhinitis. And I’d guess that you’re also sensitive to big changes in temperature too. You might try one of the steroid sprays. Vacenase, Beconase, Flonase, etc. Cheers, Al     _    _   _   _                                                      /  | | | | | | ___ _   _ _ __  _ __   ___ _ __ ___   __ _ _ __     / _ | | | |_| |/ _ | | | ‘_ | ‘_ / _ ‘_ ` _ / _` | ‘_  / ___ | | |  _  |  __/ |_| | | | | | | |  __/ | | | | | (_| | | | | /_/   __| |_| |_|___|__, |_| |_|_| |_|___|_| |_| |_|__,_|_| |_|                         |___/                                         InterNet:       heynn…@dnai.com (best) CompuServe:     heynne…@compuserve.com (70110,611) America Online: heynneman (from AOL users only… to stop the spam!) There is a form of non-allergic rhinitis called "idiopathic" or "vasomotor" rhinitis, which can indeed be triggered by weather changes. Treatment often consists of prescription corticosteroid nasal sprays. See http://www.njc.org/MFhtml/ALR_MF.html Have you been "officially" diagnosed with sinusitis?  Non-allergic rhinitis can cause some of the same symptoms.  And the resultant swelling of the nasal mucosa can trigger an actual sinusitis too. Most doctors I’ve talked with are reluctant to recommend relocation to their patients.  The only way to know if you’ll do better elsewhere is to go live there for an extended period and see if your symptoms improve. — Steven D.
