does this treatment sound right??
Question:
went to ER mon nite, because what I thought was wax build up in ear (blocked ear,full feeling,equilibrium off), turned into massive mucus in sinuses.. it was draining so much and so fast that I was choking on it..also had trouble swallowing, not all that I ate or drank went down my throat,it just sorta got stuck around my voice box area, and I would sorta throw it up(but from throat, not stomach)..so off to the ER… they listened to the symptoms, had a guy suction out the sinuses(only did one side,he said nothing was up there,even though he had just pushed it thru and choked me with the mucus), then chest x-ray, and after they came back I had sinus x-rays done..sent home with scripts for doxycline (8 day treatment,100 mg 2x day), promethazine (10 tabs 25 mg), and Claritin (which I didn’t get cuz of the money(no insurance), but got Sudafed instead)..and also given pamphlet on sinusitis. since then, the drainage continues in my throat, but not my nose. my right eustachian tube will gush with mucus if I press next to it with a Q-tip(otherwise it’s a continuous drip) irrigating doesn’t help with the amount of mucus,just momentary relief from ear pressure)and the mucus is and has been clear for the most part. frothy at times, tho before this happened I was irrigating once a week or so.I had another sinus infection in dec. which went away with treatment (at least I *think* it did ). but then, I was on AB’s for 2 weeks(E-myacin) and Entex. I also suffer from FMS/MPS,IBS and MCS, and I’m not looking forward to having to adding sinusitis to my list, but in case I have to, does it have initials? <g> I do have an appt. with my new doc on the 14th (just moved to this area). but I was wondering if I should try and see someone before then..or does this treatment seem like it might do the trick TIA — lynn http://www.homestead.com/lightlady/home.html opinions mine from my own experiences seek proper health diagnosis & treatment from health professional of your choice

oops, forgot to mention that there are yellow hard bumps by my right tonsil (that’s the reason for the Q-tip, I thought it was food stuck to my tonsil). and the amount of mucus, is still amazing me..i fill up at least 2 yogurt containers a day (the single serve size), with the mucus i spit & hack out. If I press on my underjaw from ear towards chin it gushes, but never empties. no, ive been using a bulb syringe..and after picking up med records and x-rays on fri. it seems that the sinus infection is minimal, but i’m still getting tons of clear mucus coming out of right eust.tube (same side as yellow hard bumps)..last nite my ear filled up again, and irrigating doesn’t clear it out..maybe i do need to get the pik & attachments.. i read on one of the threads about eustachian tube displacement (?), and that may be part of my prob..since my accident,(in ‘97) i haven’t been able to hold my head up correctly, and i’ve noticed if i hold my head a certain way, it drains easier/quicker.. i’m going to try wearing a cervical collar to bed tonight and see if that helps i do have dental appt. tommorow to see if that may be part of the prob. and then to new GP on 14th. — lynn, the Lady of the Lamps http://www.homestead.com/lightlady/home.html opinions mine from my own experiences seek proper health diagnosis & treatment from health professional of your choice "ENTconsult" <entcons…@aol.com> wrote in message
