I'm feeling pretty crap tonight …

Question:

number of people know don’t know anything about my condition or meds asked me if I was coming off drugs !!! :+)  the answer was yes? I just laughed. :)  I guess they asked facetiously anyway.  I don’t lie and didn’t want to tell them the truth.

fair enough. it will pass, especially if you go onto new meds fairly soon… that helps, apparently. Getting there :)  Cheers Laz :)

how’re you doing now? — wolfbitch Laz Spashett "damaged people are dangerous, they know they can survive"

Response:

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – i can’t imagine anything worse than what i went through after being on a ridiculously high dose of it for 6 years.  i hope mog survived ok.  i feel for him. i think worse would have killed me. Mog was on a ridiculously high dose of efexor, it was making his anxiety worse so the doctors kept putting his dosage up.  When they finally decided to take him off it they took him off it in 4 days.  THey have since said that they should have taken longer over it.  He was physically shaking constantly, had really bad nightmares and terrors, waking up yelling and screaming.  felt sick, looked awful.  He thought he was dying.  I don’t know how to describe it, but I hope I never see him in such a bad state again. he was ill for days. oh my god….the poor guy.  makes me feel like a baby for complaining.  i just felt really sick.

trust me, efexor withdrawal was sheer hell for mog. four days!!!  were they crazy?

yes.  blah.  The efexor was making him worse and worse, and that’s why he was in the hospital in the first place.  So they decided to take him off it, and let him come home for the weekend too, just as they started taking him off it.  And they didn’t warn either of us what to expect either.  it was awful.  I didn’t sleep for the time he was home because I was on "nightmare watch", he would start twitching in his sleep, then moaning, then he’d start really moving and talking, eg one time he sat up and yelled "no, oh no! please, no!" really terrified.  I stayed pretty much awake the whole time, so that I could wake him up out of those nightmares. someone should give them this stuff and then yank them off it.

Quite. i’m so glad he is ok now.  sometimes that stuff lingers.  everynow and then i feel like i am having a little withdrawl again.

he’s fine, at least as far as that goes.  it was a few months ago. — wolfbitch Laz Spashett "damaged people are dangerous, they know they can survive"

Response:

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – weird!  I’m glad you’re getting better.  Hopefully you’ve been able to eat some stuff by now too! I am.  Its a bugger tho’.  I seem to have come down with the flu again in the middle of it.  Now the withdrawals have gone, I’ve got sinusitis, tracheitis and an ear infection.  I’m on strong antibiotics, and so therefore my digestive systems gone on holiday and left me with guttering downpipe to use instead.  In / out like a duck mating.  So I’m bunged up as hell, coughing like a 70 year old smoker, and fed up. Never mind, the depressions OK at the moment.  :) God, I sound like my mother with her ailments.

:+(  I hope you get better soon.  Eat oranges. — wolfbitch Laz Spashett "damaged people are dangerous, they know they can survive"

Response:

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – It’s paxil withdrawls, not the Serzone. Coming off Paxil is HELL. can’t be worse than what mog went through coming off the effexor What was that like for him ? Sheer hell.  Worse than coming off any other meds was for him. Since I posted this I’ve had a few emails from people who haven’t had any trouble, to having really terrible withdrawal effects.  I went to work on Monday (bad idea).  I almost crashed into a stationary (parked) car at one point.  The corridor walls were coming in to meet me at work.  I felt absolutely diabolical – sweats, severe dizziness, almost falling off my chair in the canteen at lunchtime (I couldn’t manage anything more that a bowl of thin soup). A number of people know don’t know anything about my condition or meds asked me if I was coming off drugs !!! :+)  the answer was yes?

Jaz I hope it is that, I went cold turkey last week (ran out of paxil, and got some new serzone).  Don’t want another bout of bad side effect. Here’s hoping its that. Thanks for your reply. definitely eat lots of carbohydrates.  Mashed potato is good for it. And chocolate is a quick fix but it doesn’t last long. Its clearing up now.  I had some seriously weird aural and visual disturbances last night.  Got up out of bed at half past midnight to find out what was causing the gentle scraping noise !  Nothing there of course.  Headr it all night.  And I saw lightning in (yes, inside) my living room about 1am.  But I’m starting to get better.  A lot stronger today.

I came off paxil last week, and am now on serzone (seroxat and dutonin in the UK).  I think it is wiping me out.  I walk slowly, feel weak, some blurring of vision, really dizzy all the time.  Came home and went straight to bed tonight.  Got up l8er to read some you guys stuff :)

if hte side effects are really getting to you, phone the doctor and ask for advice.  Eat a lot of carbohydrates. Yuck.  Hope this passes.  Has anyone else had this ?  I had to stop the paxil (after 6 weeks) because of the intolerable side effects.

weird, I haven’t had any side effects on the paroxetine/seroxat/paxil — wolfbitch Laz Spashett "damaged people are dangerous, they know they can survive"
