how often do you get "checked"?
Question:
>>I was diagnosed in 92 ……..1 test overnight….given a machine…..and >>called in a reorder for masks and filters…..ive never seen an ear nose >and >>throat person or anything since. even when i say "my sinuses are really >bad" >>blah blah…dr. just acts like oh well you probably have allergies…i >think my >>problem could be a nasal problem. Has this been true for anyone else?
I was "driven" to go to the Doc because of really bad sinus pain and serious congestion. Although there are few doubts that I have OSA (given my general poor sleep) I would likely still be suffering though without proper testing (still to be done in my case incidently). I was tried on Claritin, no good for the symptoms and made me feel lousy. Now on Allegra and a prescribed nasal spray for nights. I also take Tylenol Sinus when that pain is severe. In my case I have now gotten back to bed lying horizontal again (well, nearly). While the sleep is not good, it is infinitely better than it had been for the 2 weeks up to my visit. I still wake up gagging for air, I spent most of last night awake on the couch…these nights still happen…but I am, at least getting some sleep and, on occasion, I feel reasonable in the morning. I advise you push your doc to get appropriate treatment. Also.. one of my nostrils is restricted and this contributes to the problem. ENT doc should be able to help if you have this. I’m looking at surgery sometime soon to fix that problem. Good Luck Trevor

If your sinus complaint is chronic stuffiness, or difficulty breathing, I had the same thing all my life, and believe that it got worse after starting CPAP. I had somnoplasty of the nasal turbinates (www.somnus.com) in January and got considerable relief from the stuffiness. Just hope it doesn’t revert back to the way it was.
