Question:

you get Frontal Sinus Pain from the cervical area in many cases. Suggest an physical therapist evaluation of your neck. Specific exercises could solve your problem. also you feel spacey just from pain. From what you say here your entire problem sounds physical and objective. Thank you for your time, Dr. Grossan.  You are very kind to post to this newsgroup and my message specifically. I’ve never had a cervical spine injury.  I have been told I have a curved spine as a result of being born premature.  I’ve had pain in lower right back off and on since my childhood.  As a child ( ~ 8 – 10 yrs old ) I went to chiropractors who wanted me to wear special shoes and maybe even the back brace.  But then I was told by another chiroprator that I would just grow out of it.  I picked the "I’ll grow out of it" and employed the technique of "ignore it and it will go away." Years later, after college and time in the military and the rest of adult living, I don’t suffer too much from the lower back issue; however I do have a lot of trouble with the back of my neck.  ( I thought it could be attributed to my tension and anxiety).  Specifically, at times I can’t turn my head much to the right without pain and discomfort.  Turning to the left is ok.  Pressure applied to my neck doesn’t cause pain to my frontal area, though. > At least do shower exercise: run shower hard to back of neck and turn GENTLY > looking behind you for about 4 minutes.

I will.  Thank you for the recommendation. > Migraine is rarely daily.

That is what I was thinking, too.  I couldn’t image I would have migraine for 15 and 1/2 hours out of 16 waking hours. > You also may have some sort of vacuum in the sinus with swollen membranes.

That is what it "feels" like. Would the CT scan not show swollen membranes?  > Try Advil and Clear.ease . These are both anti inflammatory. Going to get it today.  > Also warm compresses to the sinus area. Yes, very helpfull. Thank you again for the Irrigator ( this is a must have for modern day living! )

A common cause of your symptoms is the cervical spine. Does pressure on the neck cause pain in the frontal area? Have you had a cervical injury? At least do shower exercise: run shower hard to back of neck and turn GENTLY looking behind you for about 4 minutes. Migraine is rarely daily. You also may have some sort of vacuum in the sinus with swollen membranes. Try Advil and Clear.ease . These are both anti inflammatory. Also warm compresses to the sinus area. Hope this works. I am anxious/stressed a lot.  For the last 6 years I’ve had many sinus infections.  And I’ve had a virtually constant thumping, or dull pressure above my right eye and sometimes in between my eyes. Sometimes the headache is accompanied by a spacey feeling or dizziness ( not really dizzy just "like" it I guess, hard to articulate ).  Sometimes when the weather changes I feel completely debilitated from the head pressure and flu like symptoms. I’ve not gone to the doctor, I’ve just dealt with it for 6 years. Recently, because of the pain and depression associated with it, decided I had to act.  I read the Sinus Survival book by Dr. Ivker. I bought the Grossan Irrigator ( its great, by the way! ) and I’ve been taking the supplements called for in the book.  I’ve been on this program for about 5 months.  I have felt *much* better.  My nasal congestion is virtually gone.  I’ve gone on a complete lifestyle change to try and resovle this issue.  I’ve cut out dairy, I exercise, I eat really healthy, no beer or other alcohol, I’ve lost 30 lbs over the last 6 months. But, I do still get the head pressure at times, and the other symptoms listed above.  I had about a 2 month period where I was feeling really good.  But now, over the last few weeks … I’m back to feeling like hell. So, I went to an ENT and got a CT scan right out of the box.  The scan came back as all ok ( all sinuses air filled and no obstructions ) and only a minor inflimation in the right lower maxilary.  I’ve have no issues or pain from there — the problem is my forehead. My ENT thinking I’m having migranes.  I’m thinking that maybe it is some sort of allergies because today I’ve had the spaciness and pressure since about an hour after getting up for the day, but about 1:30pm I had a sneezing fit ( 7 or 8 ) and the pressure was gone for a time, then came a runny nose, then pressure and spaciness again. Can anyboby offer me some insight or help with this? Tia, Dazed and Confused
