How to keep moist?
Question:
Just out of curiosity, did they do anything to your turbinates during the sinus surgery? Jacki Barineau <jacki…@nettally.com> wrote in message

He did something to the middle turbinates only – something about tying them together to make more room? On the CT scan, one was being pinched off and the other was enlarged. I think he was going to try to make them both about the same… Does this have any bearing on things? Thanks! — Jacki jacki…@nettally.com http://www.supernet.net/~jackibar/

My suggestion would be to carry a bottle of saline spray with you everywhere and at least every hour spray, especially since you just had surgery. Good luck and happy breathing.

Some things I’ve had to do since my sinus surgery: Use distilled water for nasal irrigation. Tap water has chlorine and other junk in it. Maybe don’t irrigate so often so the mucous can start to work. Stay away from certain foods and drinks. I switched to decaf coffee and stay away from red wine–both dry me out. The idea is to get the mucous flowing so it can moisten your throat and nasal passages–he said as he sits here snorting. Wayne

Thanks for the tips, Wayne! I actually use glass-bottled spring water (Mountain Valley) due to my Multiple Chemical Sensitivity – so it doesn’t have all that "junk" in it

Hi Jacki If the saline spray doesn’t help, Ayr makes a saline gel. It might last longer than the spray Nadine

Jacki, We make a moisturizing nasal solution, Pretz. It’s a little different from the plain salines on the market, as it contains glycerine & Yerba Santa (a plant extract which helps moisturize). You can read more about it at: www.parnellpharm.com/pretz.htm I would be happy to send you a sample (or anyone else on the NG) – just let me know.
