A few question
Question:
Hi all, I’ve had sinus problems for a few years. My nose is a prolific producer of gunk, I get bad nasal drip in the evenings, and I wake up every morning with a puffy face and eyes. I have a few questions that I hope one of you can answer… Could nasal irrigation, or some other form of irrigation help with the puffy eyes and blocked sinuses in the mornings? Would frequent nose picking to clear the nose do more harm than good? Also, I have this strange thing with the bridge of my nose – whenever I apply pressure to it, or run my finger down it, I get this really unpleasant strong tingling sensation down my nose. Is this normal? Cheers, Jamie
Response:
Jamie, In my unprofessional opinion… It sounds like you are allergic to something you sleep around (e.g. dogs, cats, gerbils, etc…). I am sure irrigation would help in relieving the nights accumulation. Before I went to see an ENT (no offense to ENT’s) I would go to an allergy doctor to see what is causing the problem. Rather than washing your sinuses everyday there could be a way to rid your nose of junk wihtout irrigation everymorning. I’ve found the less maintenance I have to do the better… IMHO, NS>
