Ken I tried to mail you at  2guys.takeout.@home & my e-mail was returned as undeliverable.  I have some info for you – too long to post on this group.  I had a similar situation to yours. E-mail me & send me your correct email address . Shelley ———–== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==———- http://www.dejanews.com/       Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own

Except for the severe pain, which I don’t seem to have much of, all your symptoms and doctor responses sound very familiar. For almost three years I have had numbness on one side of my head. I lived on antibiotics for about two years, I have had sinus surgery. Each time docs look up in there with their scopes they say everything is open and looking great. I do the nasal irrigation and the mucous is thin and clear. My belief is that if one is not plagued with lots of green monsters and mucous is clear, little can be gained from irrigation–I think it is over-estimated for many. It clears out junk, but doesn’t cure chronic disease. However, when the neuros do MRI’s of my brain and neck for other problems, they always point out that I have a chronic sinus infection. When I ask the ENT’s about this, they indicate there’s nothing they can do about it. I also originally thought it was allergies. Nope, I was tested and am allergy free. I still have what feels like constant pressure in  the  front of my head, I have disequalibrium and confusion at times. I am interested in the stories I’m reading about infectious disease doctors who try the intravenous antibiotics. I’ve tried some of the heavy vitamin and natural products but suffer lots of side affects. Shelley is also offering some interesting alternatives. Wayne

Well my CT Scan showed the sinuses were wide open – nothing blocked.  I’m still having right eye and cheek pain – so its off to the eye doctor’s thursday to rule out anything there – then next week to the Dentist – to check out all my uppers. Meanwhile – my last antibiotic was today – Levaquin – it was a Strep infection – - 8 more days of prednisone.   Mucous is clear and/or white – lets see if it stays that way….. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text ->Hi folks. >I’d thought I’d introduce myself and my continuing story…. >I’m 42 year old male – living in the mid-atlantic region. >Since I was a teen i’ve always suffered sinus/allergy/sore throat >problems.  We always blamed everything on Allergies.  The last ten >years the sore throats kept coming and coming – so the Doc’s sent me >to an allergist – Guess what?  No allergies.   >The Doc decided that my problem could be my tonsills – (large cause of >so many infections) or the sinuses.  They went ahead and did a T and >A.  That was not a pleasent experience for a 40 year old! >But it did solve the recurring sore throats.   >Unfortunately, I began having recurrent sinus infections.  A year >later I had the FESS done.  That was not pleasant either!   >FESS opened up everything and I was Sinus infection free for almost 2 >years.   >Last August I caught a bad cold – that led to a Sinus Infection.  Took >antibiotics – infection goes away.  Two weeks after stopping the >antibiotics – its back.  This has been going on for months now. >Sometimes I have severe pain through my sinuses.  All the time I have >this numbing type pain in and around my right eye/maxillary sinus >area.  A few times, the pain has been extremely severe across my face >- even causing nausea.   But when the ENT looks up with their scope – >its slightly inflamed – they don’t see any indication of why I’m >experiencing pain like I am. >and yes, I irrigate daily with Dr. G’s waterpic attachement.  That >does help.   >Currenly I’ll be finishing this antibiotic in 2 days – and in another >week I’ll be finishing up a four week course of prednisone. >Meanwhile, I had a CT Scan done – and am awaiting the results.  I hope >it shows something wrong with one of the sinuses the ENT can’t see >into.   The doc’s think I’m crazy – because of the pain I’m feeling – >but its there – my eye is swollen – my cheek is slightly swollen  - >but inside – the endoscope only shows slight inflammation – but the >endoscope cannot see into all the sinuses. >Has anyone else on here suffered from Sinus Pain that the Docs’ see no >reason for? >Thanks for listening – and I’ll let you know if the CT scan showed >anything. >Rob

Wayne, for the last 3 years I have been having the same problems as you discribed in your post. I went through all the various remedies. I went to more ENT doctors than you can imagine. I always complained about the cloudy head, confusion and lose of balance. In August of 97 I had the deviated septum and sinus surgery. I helped me greatly. But I still felt that I could be feeling a lot better. Last Thrusday night I had one hell-of-a night. I was so dizzy that I thought that I was going to black out. I bounced off te walls tering to get to te living room. I went to the ememgency room at 11:00 at night. The doctor said that I was dizzy from vertico. He said that I had a inner ear infection. He perscribed Antivert (Meclivine 25mg) 3 times a day. I started to feel better. As a matter of fact I feel better now than before to dizzy spell. I went to see the ENT doctor who did the sinus surgery on me today. He is keeping me on the Antivert for 3 mor weeks and than he is going to run some tpye of test that is going to last 1 1/2 hours. What I am leading up to is that maybe the problem that I have been conplaining about the last few years  can be contributed to the inner ear infection. I figure that at this stage of the game I feel nothing ventured nothing gained. I will keep the NG posted, maybe its something to think about.

Rob, I hope you continue to improve. I am seeing a chiropractor for injuries that I had forgotten about, but were still there. I do still have infection, but I feel so much better around my neck and head. You might have something squished up against something else.
