A lot of interesting points. I never thought about sugar although I use brown sugar most of thge time. You could also mention that a lot of people have allergies to those E numbers they put in foods. I try to prepare a lot of my food myself and so I know what goes in it. So in general this means not so many of those pre-packaged ready to eat foods and dont touch stuff not in a natural form. — Phil

Hello Everyone. My name is Mitchell Smith and I have been plagued with chronic sinusitis for over 10 years now. 6 of these 10 I suffered much as most of you do; listless, irritable, confused. Finally, at the end of year 6, I gave up on conventional medicine and implemented a regimen based on simple, accepted and proven facts: 1 – Refined sugar suppresses the immune system. 2 – Bovine products are not meant for human consumption. 3 – Improper use of antibiotics help create powerful germs. 4 – Airborne particulates are everywhere, so… 5 – Nasal rinsing is important. 6 – Exercise is good for you. 7 – The human body is an extraordinary healer, as long as you believe that it is. Of course, smoking, drinking and the consumption of drugs all play a significant, detrimental part in your health, so DON’T DO ANY OF THEM! This includes caffeine, people! Year 7 – Using myself as a guinea pig, I led a life of incredibly strict rules, all of the above. The result: Month 3 through month 12, absolutely, positively not one infection. Year 8 – Not so tight with the rules. Milk with my diet, but very limited refined sugar intake (by the way, this is an incredibly hard thing to do in today’s society). Still remember rules 5,6 and 7. The result: Absolutely, positively not one infection, but I did catch a cold once, and the flu as well. Year 9 – Even less tight with some of the rules, tighter with one. Stopped consuming milk (including cheese), eating products with refined sugar when I crave them, exercising less often (never more than 3 times a week). The result: Back to year 6. Plenty of infections along with a cold or two, and the flu. Now, I am in year 10, and I am again starting to exercise regularly (5 times a week of brisk walking), consuming milk but not at the regular level (less than 16 ounces a day, nonfat of course), and eliminating as much refined sugar as possible. The result: I am feeling much better, thank you. I expect to be back to 100% within 3 months. My work and living environments have not changed (I live in the Northwest), only my diet, physical activity and mental outlook. There is no doubt in my body that the consumption of refined sugar together with the slacked pace in exercise pushed me back into the infectious mode. These are the keys to my success. I cannot stress enough what damage refined sugar does to the human body. Eliminate it, and you will start to feel better within a week. Walk briskly (or do some exercise that you enjoy and will STICK WITH) for 30 minutes, 4 times a week, and you will improve even more, much more. If you still have problems, then cut down on your consumption of milk. Try these things, it really may help your body help itself. Please understand that I am not a doctor, I am telling you what helped me. I have read (god, have I read about this condition!) as much as I could get my hands on, and this is what I came up with. Of course much more can be done with diet, and yours may differ from mine. Also, again understanding that I am not a physician, fasting is a terrific way to allow your body to rid itself of toxins. Consult you health care professional before embarking on any of the advice that I have given you. I would love to hear from some of you. Please feel free to comment publicly or privately on this matter, or my grammar if you prefer. Take care, Mitchell Smith PS. If you choose to fast, then do it smartly. Eat raw vegetables, exclusively, for 2 days, then fast for the next 3 days (consuming as much water as possible during this time), then eat raw vegetables for 3 days, then start eating smartly. AVOID REFINED SUGAR FROM THIS POINT ON!
