Regional differences

Question:

Can anyone tell me if the incidence/severity of sinusitis is affected by location (eg, close to coastal regions, high altitude mountain regions, hot or cold regions etc. Thank you.

I find the Midwest to be crappy for the sinuses. Ocean-side is good for me in all ways!! Linda

Hello Pete, It differs from person to person. Always there is an individual susceptibility. To one person the sun is terrible, and to another the sun is like an angel. To one person cold air is terrible, to another cold air helps a lot. Arjen.

I’ve lived in New York (Long Island) until six years ago when I moved to Tampa Fl.  No difference in the length or frequency of sinusitis.  And like most chronic sufferers, I get it about three to four times a year, antibiotics for about four weeks seems to "temporarily" relieve the systems.  I’ve been using an over the counter saline solution nasal spray, and I have noticed the more frequently I use it, the less frequent the sinusitis attacks, but it is not the cure all! Good luck! Cheers, Ed – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text –
