Psoriasis and sinus problems
Question:
Hi, post nasal drip problems here. To be blunt, my phlegm harking always bugged even my closest friends. Now since I’ve been scratching and flaking all over the place, they don’t bring up my annoying hacking anymore. So I guess it balances out in the long run. Chuck Majewski. I leave a little part of me with everyone I visit.

Yep I too have chronic sinus problems…. Misty. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I and two friends I know all have Psoriasis and all suffer chronic sinusitis. I’ve heard it suggested in various literature that there may be some connection, even if it’s not a cause and effect thing (in Chinese medicine, it’s apparently even believed that the skin and lungs are part of the same organ system). I’m interesting in knowing how many Psoriasis sufferers out there also have sinus or other respiratory problems. Thanks, Walter
Response:
Next time around I’ll make sure that I choose to inhabit a decent body that works well & doesn’t give me such a hard time…:) Keep up with your fantastic sense of humour!
You know, I think I’ll ask for a better one too! While I’m at it, I’ll even ask for a nice rack and a body that never gains an ounce more than it needs! No problem keeping the humor going, its all I’ve got left! Take Care, Ava

Count me in the no sinus problems category though I’ve had pretty severe coverage for about thirteen years.
I’m another no allergy nor sinus problems had-P-all-my-life people…. — Jewlz! —

I have had allergies (cats and indoor mold) and severe sinus problems all my life. I still remember the day, 31 years ago, when I was first able to breath through both nostrils at the same time. I was walking with some friends and I made quite a fuss about it because I thought it was really special. My friends said they could breath through both nostrils all the time, but I didn’t really believe them. — spam twice) A Guide to this newsgroup can be found at http://www.pinch.com/skin/guide.html The charter can be found at http://www.pinch.com/skin/docs/newsgroup/ass-dp.newgroup

Hi Walter, I’ve been suffering from severe psoriasis for 22 years. I also have chronic sinusitis and chronic bronchitis even though I’ve never smoked. I believe that there is a connection between the lungs and the skin. Best Regards, Jo

I have mild/moderate P and had respiratory problems (caused by mucous overproduction) till the day my osteopath suggested it may be caused by dairy products. I stopped ingesting dairy and my respiratory problems went away. Magic! The P remains though

Hi, I’ve had heavy catarrh for as long as I can remember. I have a permanent cough. I’ve had various tests done but only ever been given the answer that ‘you overproduce mucous & you’ll have to live with it’! George.

Wow! If that doesn’t sound like autoimmune symptoms, I don’t know what does! Unfortunately, the "love with it" treatment sounds all too familiar as well.

Yep,you’re right! I had my first fright with allergies at around 18,when I was rushed to hospital with anaphylactic(sp?)shock. It was down hill all the way from there.Next time around I’ll make sure that I choose to inhabit a decent body that works well & doesn’t give me such a hard time…:) Keep up with your fantastic sense of humour! Best wishes,George.

Well, long before I saw my first P lesion I had a bad problem with my sinuses but that went away when I stopped jumping into chlorinated pools from 15 feet up in the air (the impact with the water became unbearable). I’ve got a few allergies but the almost never seem to cause congestion… they just give me skin welts. Example, if I play my guitar and it gets a little sweat on it from my arm and I don’t wipe it off, I’ll get an allergic reaction to it the next time I play it with bare arms. Isn’t that weird? I’m actually allergic to myself I think. Anyway, I haven’t had a severe bout of sinus trouble in the 20 years I’ve been coping with P. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I and two friends I know all have Psoriasis and all suffer chronic sinusitis. I have constant sinus problems since getting P & PA 7 years ago. Since then, the last 5 years i have had sinus issues. Perhaps this all relates back to problems with the immune system which brought on this hell ride! – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I and two friends I know all have Psoriasis and all suffer chronic sinusitis.
