are you using tap water?  mine burned too, and I used bottled water, and haven’t had a problem with it since. of course, it could be that your sinuses are just inflamed right now.  I absolutely loved that packet sample that came with my irrigater.  it felt wonderful when my sinuses were hurting. — —– Ruth Berry Signature Images http://www.berryimages.com 1 Corinthians 2:5  That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

I forgot the splash of hydrogenperoxide. Then at the end put a big splash to clean the water pick. Keeps it very clean. will microwaving tap water remove any chlorine?  I thought that was what was making mine burn.  I warm my bottled water at 44 seconds prior to irrigating. — —– Ruth Berry Signature Images http://www.berryimages.com 1 Corinthians 2:5  That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. I recieved my irrigating tip and a copy of the Sinus Cure.  My question is does anyone feel like their sinuses burn all the time, like you have just got clorinated water up your nose?  This is my main pain and I only tried the irrigation once and it made the burning soooooo much worse.  I’m afraid to try it again.  I used the solution mixture that was suggested in the book.  Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Thanks in advance Jet

Did you adnust the pressure so the stream was one inch high? Try a mix of one teaspoon salt – Kosher salt and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda. In addition to the irrigation , use Breahte.ease XL as a nasal spray 4x a day, since your nose appears to be quite irritated, Murray Grossan, M.D. http://www.ent-consult.com

Your sinuses (or at least your nasal passages) may be inflamed and highly sensitive from your chronic sinus problems.  That happens to me whenever I get a sinusitis flareup.  Then I’m unable to read a newspaper because just the smell of the newsprint makes me sneeze uncontrollably–something that NEVER happens when my sinuses are in good shape.  Likewise, when I have sinusitis I will sneeze and sneeze after irrigating.  Perhaps I’m sensitive to the chlorination in my tap water. Irrigation isn’t going to relieve extreme inflammation.  For that you need to see a physician. — Steven L.

I have that problem now. But I just came back from vacation staying in a smelly dirty motel. Anyways I use the waterpik with grossan tip and I use breathEase xl only now. I made my own solution but it always burns me. When I have the burning I have to stop for 2-3 full days. First BE gentle, Dont force the solution in to fast. Nice slow irrigation works great. In one nostril out the other. Try warm water (90) not hot not cold. Use the right amount. If you over do it its a waste of time. You are just trying to make a slight suction/pulsesation… Dont blow your nose hard. It just irratates it more. Gentlt blows are good. I know how tempting is is to force and foghorn your nose but it might make it worse. Be as relaxed as you can.  If its that irratated let it rest. try a steroid spray. They may take 1-3 days to work, but when they do there great. OTC sprays are ok for 2-3 days but you can get hooked on them and you will wish you didnt. Been there done that. If your sinuses are giving you problems a lot please see a ENT.  I will never use salt baking soda ect solution on my own again. The small price for a premade one is the way to go. others will disagree on this but i just cant get the solution correct. Can do s solution is great but I use breath-ease xl with the peroxide. Stick with the basics until you know what works for you.  I try to give only good advice but what works for one does not work for all. Any question let us all know. Keep your bedroom dustfree, humidity 35% or close. clean air ect. It make a huge difference. Let me know how you do. Good luck

==> You wrote: "Can do s solution is great but I use breath-ease xl with the

peroxide." <== Whatever works for you is what you should use. I found my "upside down" flooding of my sinuses, with peroxide/baking soda/salt and filtered water, great at ending my sinusitis misery. The main point of my technique is getting the anti-infective mixture to the source of the infection. There are many sinus cavities within the head and face, and getting anti-infective solution into those sinus cavities, to kill the infection, is very difficult. I don’t know if my "upside down" flooding technique successfully gets into all of the sinus cavities, thus I am not sure how effective my technique is at curing each and every person’s sinus problems. If someone has to irrigate over and over again, it suggests to me that their sinus infection problem is not being helped by the irrigation process. My "upside down" flooding, irrigation technique is "use as needed", and I have gone up to three months without having to irrigate. Regards…….. CanDo.
