Is this sinus related?
Question:
Hi, Your story sounds very similar to mine. I had sinus surgery a year ago and have all the symptoms you describe. My head always feels full of pressure, I always have pains and other strange feelings up there. I think this due to the fact that once we get chronic sinusitis, we almost never get rid of it. I read that some people have surgery several times, but… It’s my impression that sinus problems are totally beyond the understanding of most doctors and even ENT’s don’t really know how to much more than perform the surgery and turn us loose. My next effort is going to be with an infectious disease doctor to see what he thinks about the intravenous antibiotics. The only story I’ve read about sinus problems being cured was with this technique. Wayne

From my own experience, I went for years without anything "coming out" but having all the other symptoms of sinusitis; Therefore I was told over and over again that I didn’t have sinus problems. Then I started "coughing up" this brown junk that evidently had been "sitting there" for a long time. I just had sinus surgery 5 days ago and sinusitis was found. It’s too early for me to say where the surgery will help, but I tried everyting else–all herbal remedies, saline, decongestants, allergy shots, etc. The point is–I did have sinusitis for a long time without anything coming out my nose. I did periodically have a lot of drainage. But that would come and go. A year ago I had surgery to correct a deviated septum in my nose. Prior to that I had been experiencing sinus headaches, pressure when I bend my head forward (feels like all my blood pooling behind my nose). After the surgery things got better, I thought I had beat it, but now the symptoms are coming back. For the past week I have a constant pressure in my head. Not a full blown headache, just a constant tension, as if someone was gently squeezing my brain from the inside. At times I experience shooting pains starting from one nostril, over the eye to the back of my head. Sometimes the pain takes the other direction, and seems to go down my eustachian tube. The puzzling thing is that I have no mucous … my nasal passages seem clear, if anything too dry. Saline irrigation doesn’t help, since there is nothing to blow out. The "pooling" effect is still there when I bend forward. My ears are not blocked. Can anyone out there help me? Similar experience? Results? Can one have "dry" sinusitis? (I am male, 34, living in a cold climate)
