claritin or flonase:
Question:
can flonase and claritin be used together without complications? I took some claritin last night, and i was jittery and nervous all night and couldn’t sleep. I also tried one spray of flonase in hopes my nose didn’t bleed. so far so good.

I think people do take them together but Claritin, an antihistamine, is a drying agent. Is that what you are trying to accomplish? Dry out watery secrtions? A lot of ENT’s do not like like antihistamines because they can inhibit full draining of the sinuses. They may be contraindicated in chronic sinusitis.
Response:
My MD prescribed the flonase and clarinex for a week for my upper respiratory infection. The clarinex at night as it makes you tired during the day. I asked about taking Claritin and she said the clarinex, it works better. I take Claritin for my Hay Fever which it is very high now. It is a melting one that melts in your mouth. Do not chew it. shirley
