Chronic Headache.
Question:
Tom-> I’m a computer geek by trade, use one all day & a lot at home. I just got new glasses and all is fine. Before the new glasses, I was getting a lot of headaches. The catch is my eye doc says the prescription barely changed! I now use three pairs of glasses, one for distance (walking, driving), one for the puter (bifocals, the top for the screen and the bottom for reading), and one for extreme closeup work (I fix clocks, watches, etc. as a hobby). If you use puters a lot, it may be your eyes. Also, cheap monitors give headahces more than good ones. I use and recommend only Sony Trinitron monitors. My users at work never complain about eye fatigue with the Sonys. Sam

IMHO, this doesn’t prove anything. Sinus infections can take weeks of antibiotics to cure–even if the bacteria are sensitive to the antibiotic, and many strains of bacteria that cause sinusitis are increasingly resistant to the usual antibiotics. (I know someone who had to be on strong antibiotics for several *months* to clear her sinus infection.) You should see a real ENT who can use an endoscope to image the sinuses directly, and/or order up a CT scan that can X-ray the sinuses directly. — Steven D. I am a 33 year old male. About 8 weeks ago I started to get pressure headaches around my eyes that are mild but occasionally become more sever. My vision seems be slightly afffected in that the headahces make me fuzzy but there isnt any vision problems(I can still read, etc..). So far I have been to my primary care, an opthamologist, and a nuerologist. The headaches began during an extremly stress family time in my life 8 weeks ago. I have been checked for: brain tumors(MRI) opthamologist(Gluacoma, etc…) sinusitis( given one week of very strong antibiotics with no result). The nuerologist believes that the headaches are pure stress and that I got into a "cycle of pain" which she gave me medication to break. I am on the second day of this medication without any releif. The medication is a anti-depressant given in extremly low[er] dossages than used for depression. The doctor told me they use this medication in low doses to break the cycle of chronic headaches. I have the headache almost every day all the time. It goes away sometimes when I sleep but returns shortly after I wake up. I can get some relief when I workout hard(run, etc…) but the headache always creeps back. I have had a few dayz in the last 8 weeks without almost complete relief. Any Comments? -Tom-
