Am I the only one?

Question:

I am controlling my sinus problems by daily irrigation.  But I am a pessimist, and I wonder what would happen to me if I became unable to care for myself.  I’m in my 60’s and a stroke or other event in not entirely unlikely.  I don’t think there’s any way to clear the mucus which accumulates other than irrigation.  I can see myself bedridden choking on my own mucus.  What a picture!  Am I the only one with these thoughts?

Response:

Is there stroke in your heredity?  If so, take the proper precautions for your health.  If not, are you watching too much tv?  Try to channel your thoughts into more spiritual areas, meditate, smell the roses, watch the birds.  Turn off that damn tv, there is too much bad news and too many pharmaceutical commercials. Dr. Grossan, I would very much appreciate you sharing with the group your knowledge about Singulair. If you know something about its use in treatment of Chronic Sinusitis, it can only be of benefit to us in sharing it. After all, this is why we are participating in a support group for sinusitis. It is a very difficult disease to live with and our treating doctors do not have all the knowledge about it. As with any suggested treatment, we do need to run it by our doctors who know our conditions to see if it may be of benefit to us. Thanking you in advance for your reply.

EXACTLY

I wish I knew more about the use of singular in allergy and sinusitis. I can only tell you that more doctors are recommending it in addition to the standard therapies, but I personally haven’t had enough experience using it to come to a conclusion based on personal experience. One outstanding advantage of Singular is the very low incidence of side effects, which I like. I don’t know if it can be used as a stand alone medication. It is by prescription only. There are several pathways to inflmmation of allergy and singular can block one of those pathways. One of the reasons doctors are using it is the low side effect picture. If your allergy medication isn’t working, you should ask your doctor about adding Singular. Murray Grossan, M.D. http://www.ent-consult.com http://www.hydromedonline.com/presentingthehydropulse/

What benefit would that have – Singulair? "ENTconsult" <entcons…@aol.comnospam> wrote in message

I’m in my 40’s but I think of that all the time. The last major infection I had lasted 6 months and if I wasn’t able to do internet research and irrigation, I would still have it or be dead, either from the infection spreading through my body or from my own hand. So you are not alone with your thoughts, but I’ve yet to come up with a way to deal with it if and when I am unable to care for myself. nyc
